Heat Vision and Jack was created as a 1999 pilot for Fox. Written by Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab, directed by Ben Stiller, this series was passed over by Fox despite critical acclaim from those who’ve been lucky enough to see it.
The 30 minute pilot is about an astronaut (played by Jack Black) with a medical secret who is on the run from the evil Ron Silver and the rest of NASA, with the help of a talking motorcycle called Heat Vision (voiced by Owen Wilson).
Watch the pilot here!
Looks like Fox loves to pass on great shows… cough arested development cough

-My brother is in the hospital getting his appendix removed. Sudden case of appendicitis. Spend the night at the hospital. He’s doing great though.

The Sounds new album came out today, its so good. After a listen the tracks that stick out for me are “Hurt You” and “Much too long”. This band is about as “dancy sportfucker scenester hip beauty bar” as I get, but its so damn good! Pick it up, its fluffy fun and more diverse than their last album.
- Lonely Island’s Bing Bong Brothers is amazing! Anything making fun of rap is good in my book.
- I Want You So Hard (Boys Bad News) Video by Eagles of Death Metal (directed by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island)
- This week I can’t get enough of: Mew “Special” and The Good Life “Always a Bridesmaid”.
V for Vendetta
I have heard a lot of press about “V for Vendetta” being a pro-terrorist film. I think a lot of Americans aren’t too happy about a film where the hero “blows up a building to save the world”. This article by Roeper (of Ebert & Roeper) really sets the story straight for me. Yes the film is about fighting an opressive government, however the film depics the government as a Hitlerian system outlawing free speach, homosexuality and artistic expression. Good read.

Misc
Lately via Netflix I have been REALLY into 24 season 2. I don’t watch TV much so I catch up with Netflix. 24 season 2 was damn good! It makes me really worried that we have good ol’ GWB in office right now. Bush can’t handle a storm so what would happen if we actually had a nuke in the country like 24 showcases. We would be on our own. Scary times!
Anyways season 3 is in my queue. I’ve been a Netflix customer for 3 years now and I can honestly say I’ve always been happy with them. Netflix, Vonage and Adelphia are the 3 companies I really like. Adelphia is amazing: they increased my bandwidth, added HBO, gave me a free digital box and since I recently moved restarted my discounted offer for the first 3 months of service! Not to mention their support is 24/7 and you get through right away! I had an issue with their DNS and they patched me through to a manager and I helped him troubleshoot their own DNS for them and 3 days later I received a Thank You card in the mail. Granted I helped them with their own service for free… but still they are great!
Long time to post
Its been a crazy couple of weeks. Work has been very busy/challenging. We are launch two new sites this week. I did managed to get away and spent the weekend in the middle of nowhere training for some search and rescue volunteer work. The group is coming together nicely, a lot of solid quality people. Lots to learn!
- We all know Microsoft employees some of the worst artists next to shepard fairy, so you will love this: What if Microsoft redesigned the ipod packaging?
- We got maja (our cat) a brother last week. Max was successfully adopted from the shelter and has become a loved member of our family. Pictures to come.
- I spent some time with my new toy (Garmin 60cx). I’m very impressed with the new reciever and its ability to “lock” inside most buildings and heavy brush. For backpacking and rescue work this new sensitivity I believe will prove to be well worth the upgrade. I also I’m trying out invisibleSHIELD, I ordered one for my ipod too as I have heard great reviews on this product. I’ll post some maps and routes soon. It’s scary what you can do with a laptop, gps and a radio. Fun!
- This company will make hidden passageways in your home. Though I would prefer to design my own this is still interesting. Cheesy site though.
